Dear [Jae], I appreciate the question. Opioids, like any other treatment, have to be initiated, continued or discontinued based on a benefit to risk ratio. In your case, and again this is my personal risk/benefit stratification, the risks outweigh the benefits given the impact of opioids on mood, hormonal balance, respiratory drive, constipation, immunity, etc. I am happy to chat with your general doctor ( with your permission of course) if need be .
